Kunstanstalten A.G. München - Englische Infanterie

Hello,

Today I'd like to show you some British infantrymen in their uniforms from 1914 or 1915. They are part of a collection of figures that I am currently restoring.

These figures come from the "Der Weltkrieg" series and were printed by the Kunstanstalten A.G. München (Schellingstraße 109). The print sheets featured the large inscription "Münchner Künstler-Soldatenbogen." There were at least seven different of these sheets. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any of them in their original condition. I don't know their original size, nor how many figures were printed on each sheet. Based on the writing of the company name and the uniforms depicted, it can be assumed that these print sheets were published in 1914 or 1915.

The figures are approximately 7 cm tall.

J.F.Schreiber 958 - Matrosen Division

Hello,

Today I'd like to show you a sheet of printed figures from Schreiber, a company based in Esslingen. It has the number 958 and features sailors in the landing gear of the Imperial German Navy.

The figures are approximately 10 cm tall.

Fliegertruppe mit Flugzeugen, Gustav Kühn 10287

 Hello,

Today I'm showing you another loose figure from my Wehrmacht collection. 

This time it's an aircraft from the early days of the German Air Force. Such aircraft were featured on the print sheet 10287 "Fliegertruppe mit Flugzeugen" (Air Force with Aircraft) by Gustav Kühn. I'm not entirely sure, but I think this figure is more likely a contemporary magazine insert or something similar, rather than a cutout from a commercial print sheet. At the very least, the quality is poorer than comparable figures by Gustav Kühn from that time.

The figure is 17 cm long and 7.5 cm high.

Abadie - Soldatenbilderbogen, Österreichische Dragoner (2,5 D)

Hello,

Today I'm showing you a somewhat unusual printed sheet from Abadie. 

Instead of the usual flat figures, it depicts three Austrian dragoons, made in several parts and assembled to create a 2.5D effect.

Otherwise, the figures are also in Abadie's usual 6cm scale.

J.F.Schreiber 919 - Fliegerabwehrtruppe

Hello,

Today I'm showing you another single cut-out figure from my Wehrmacht collection. 

It's a single anti-aircraft gun from sheet no. 919 by J.F. Schreiber. The title of the sheet was: Deutsches Heer - Fliegerabwehrtruppe (German Army - Anti-Aircraft Troops).

The gun group is 15.5 cm long and 13 cm high.

Austrian Army - Marcel Vagné No.527

Today I'm showing you another one of my printed sheets by Marcel Vagné (the father). 

It's numbered 527 and shows an overview of the units and uniforms of the Austrian Army. This plate is also rather "special" in terms of its drawings; the bodybuilder comic figures aren't quite as prominent as in some of the other plates, but the style is recognizable. Below you can see the whole thing for yourself, divided into two halves, as a large-format scan. The figures are 8 cm tall.

Infanterie stehend, Gustav Kühn 10292 (similar)

Hello,

Today I'm showing you some more figures by Gustav Kühn. 

At least these figures again correspond to the illustrations from a commercial printed sheet from this publisher. However, these soldiers are again slightly reduced in size and printed on newsprint, so they probably come from a contemporary youth magazine.

The original plate is titled "Standing Infantry and Pioneers" and numbered 10292.

The figures are about 7.5 cm tall.
